A Leader in Rehab Care
Part of RHCI's mission is to serve as a leader in providing rehabilitation services to residents of Southeastern Massachusetts. Two aspects of this mission are:
- To identify the rehabilitation needs of residents
- To deliver high quality, cost-effective services to meet these needs.
As a result of the ongoing assessment of the community's rehabilitation needs, RHCI often leads the region in developing services to address those needs, for example:
- Center for NeuroRecovery, to provide advanced rehabilitation for our population at risk for stroke, brain injury, Parkinson's disease, and other neurological disorders.
- RHCI for Children, to bring children with disabling conditions and learning disabilities comprehensive therapy services and highly specialized physician expertise
- Low Vision Program, to improve daily life for those with macular degeneration and other vision impairment
- Innovative Adaptive Golf programs to enhance the return to community of people with disabling conditions
- Fit to Be Kids, a weight management program for children and adolescents that includes exercise, nutritional education, and behavioral support to promote lifestyle change
- Outpatient Satellite Centers in Bourne, Yarmouth and Orleans, which extend RHCI's therapy and physician expertise throughout the Cape
- Medication Reconciliation Program, a patient safety initiative led by RHCI nursing, pharmacy, physician and quality management staff. RHCI was among the first hospitals in the state to launch a comprehensive program.
