Approach to Care

Approach to Care

Patient-centered Model

At RHCI, each patient is an important member of a comprehensive rehabilitation team. Patients, family members, physicians, and rehabilitation professionals work together to increase each patient’s functional abilities and independence. Soon after admission, our experienced clinicians confer with patients and family members to establish treatment plans and goals based on individual needs and circumstances. Throughout treatment, the RHCI staff provides patients and families with support, encouragement and respect, in addition to expert care.

Team Approach to Care

At RHCI, a multidisciplinary team of rehabilitation professionals works in close collaboration to help each patient meet his or her goals. Each team is directed by one of RHCI’s seven full-time physicians.

Physicians at RHCI are leading specialists in neurology and in rehabilitation medicine, also known as Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, or physiatry. Physiatrists’ training enables them to treat patients’ loss of function as well as accompanying medical conditions. RHCI’s full-time physicians see inpatients throughout their stay and direct each patient’s individualized treatment program.
