
Amputee Rehabilitation
RHCI provides comprehensive rehabilitation services to help the patient with a recent amputation achieve maximum functional independence. Strengths of the program include wound care, pain management, prosthetic fitting and training and community reintegration activities.
The goals of RHCI’s Amputee Rehabilitation Program are to:

Maximize the amputee’s functional independence

Assist in the patient’s emotional adjustment

Enhance the quality of life of amputees
Program components include:

Individualized, outcome-oriented treatment plan

Coordinated, intensive therapies to promote maximum functional improvement

Comprehensive educational program

Support resources to assist with the emotional adjustment to amputation

Nutrition education and counseling

Therapeutic recreation services

Specialty services, ordered by the patient’s physician as needed, including home evaluation, on-site Prosthetics Clinic, etc.

Patient-centered discharge planning, including follow-up outpatient care and links to community resources
