Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation

RHCI provides comprehensive rehabilitation for individuals with spinal cord injuries. The goals of rehabilitation are to ensure optimal physical, emotional and social adjustment following a spinal cord injury, to maximize functional independence, and to improve quality of life.

Program components include:

  • Individualized, outcome-oriented treatment plan
  • Bowel and bladder training programs
  • Skin care education and management
  • Supportive resources that assist with the emotional adjustment to spinal cord injury
  • Coordinated, intensive therapies to promote maximum functional improvement
  • Nutrition education and counseling
  • Specialty resources, ordered by the patient’s physician as appropriate, including on-site swallowing studies, home safety evaluation, Assistive Technologies Clinic, Brace Clinic, community re-integration activities, etc.
  • Patient-centered discharge planning, including follow-up outpatient care and links to community resources
