Support Groups

RHCI recognizes the benefit of support groups for individuals seeking useful information and emotional support for a variety of conditions and concerns.  The following is a list of support groups that currently meet at our main hospital facility.  

Alcoholics Anonymous

  • Every Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30

Aphasia Community Group

  • Meet on the first Wednesday of the month, 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., in the second floor dining room.  No meeting in July and August .
  • For individuals with Aphasia, their families and members of the health care community

Fibromyalgia Support Group

  • Meet on the fourth Thursday of the month, 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.

Food Addicts in Recovery Anonymous

  • Meet every Sunday from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m.
  • New members welcome.

Mild Brain Injury and Aneurysm Support Group

  • Meet on the third Saturday of each month, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
  • Forum for education, sharing of information and resources, and support
  • For persons with traumatic or acquired mild brain injury and their families.

Multiple Sclerosis Support Group

  • Meet on the third Sunday of the month, 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
  • Provides support for persons with MS and their families

Stroke Peer Visitation Program

The Stroke Peer Visitation Program expands the range of services RHCI offers for stroke survivors and their families.

  • Program offered in conjunction with National Stroke Association
  • Specially trained volunteers provide support and education through home visits
  • Visits may also be made to stroke survivors in assisted living facilities and nursing homes
  • The program is intended for people who are not able to attend hospital or community-based support groups
  • Training available for those wishing to become Stroke Peer Visitors

Stroke Survivors' Support Group

  • Meet the second Wednesday of each month, 1:30 - 3:30 p.m.
  • Forum for education, discussion and support
  • Facilitators: James Graham and Leanne Vasconcellos, stroke survivors

Well Spouse Support Group

  • Meet on the third Tuesday of the month, 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.
  • For spouses of persons with chronic diseases and disabling conditions
