Aquatic Therapy
RHCI offers aquatic therapy to both adult and pediatric patients in two convenient locations: RHCI-Sandwich and Mayflower Place Retirement Community in West Yarmouth.
RHCI-Sandwich
- Led by experienced RHCI clinicians trained in aquatics
- Pool specially-designed for rehabilitative hydrotherapy
- Services available to patients with orthopedic and/or neurological impairments
- Initial evaluation by a physical or occupational therapist to establish individualized plan of care
- Warm-water (94-97° F) therapeutic pool with 4-foot shallow end suitable for gait training, balance training and weight bearing activities; deep end suitable for non-weight bearing activities and spinal unloading.
- Hydraulic lift available for non-ambulatory patients

Mayflower Place Retirement Community
- Led by experienced RHCI clinicians trained in aquatics
- Individual 30-60 minute sessions available Mondays and Wednesdays, 1-4pm
- Services available to patients with orthopedic and/or neurological impairments
- Initial evaluation by a physical or occupational therapist at RHCI-Yarmouth required prior to initiating aquatics
- Warm-water (94-97° F) therapeutic pool -- whirlpool available
- Beneficial for post-operative hip, knee or back rehab
- Physician referral required
