
Diabetes Exercise Program
RHCI’s Diabetes Exercise Program is designed to complement the medical and nutritional management of diabetes with structured exercise and education classes. The program may also lower the diabetic’s risk of heart disease and stroke by promoting physical activity, which can lower blood glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol; relieve stress; and strengthen the heart, muscles and bones.
- 4-week program
- For those with longstanding and newly-diagnosed type 2 diabetes
- Structured exercise and education
- Individual exercise plan established by Clinical Exercise Physiologist
- Person must obtain approval by his or her physician to participate
Schedule
- Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays for 4 weeks
- Choose between two convenient times:
- 6:00 a.m. – 7:15 a.m.
- 12:30 p.m. – 1:45 p.m.
- All classes held at RHCI
Referrals and Cost:
Self pay program. Approval by a physician is required.
