Therapy Supervisors

Laurie Crocker, PT:  Laurie is Spaulding Cape Cod's Outpatient Physical Therapy Supervisor. She graduated from California State University Fresno with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1984, and has been a practicing physical therapist for 27 years. She joined the Spaulding staff in January 1996. The last 23 years of her practice has been in the outpatient setting. Laurie is a Certified Orthopedic Manual Therapist and an APTA Board Certified Orthopedic Specialist. Her areas of specialization include manual therapy (soft tissue and joint mobilization), shoulder rehab, cervical disorders, TMJ disorders, and lumbosacral disorders.
   
Nora Kenneway, MOT, OTR/L:  Nora earned her MOT in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern Maine. She is currently the Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Audiology Supervisor at Spaulding Cape Cod’s main hospital in Sandwich. Nora specializes in therapy of the shoulder,manual therapy, musician injuries and is a Certifed Ergonomic Assessment Specialist.

Audiologist

Sandra Stumph-Reams, AuD, Doctor of Audiology:  Sandra, who received her doctorate from A.T. Still University, Arizona School of Health Sciences, in 2009, has been a practicing Audiologist for 24 years.  She received her B.S. in Speech and Hearing from Worcester State College and her M.S. of Speech and Hearing from Washington University. Sandy has expertise in adult and pediatric audiology, hearing aids and auditory processing.

Therapy Staff

Karen Bryant, PT:  Karen graduated from Northwestern University Medical School with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1990.  In addition, she earned a B.A. of Fine Arts in Dance from the University of California, Santa Barbara in 1986. Karen joined the Spaulding staff in March of 2007. Karen specializes in neuro rehabilitation, pediatrics, dance injuries, orthopedics, stroke, and back rehabilitation. Prior to joining Spaulding Cape Cod, she participated in scoliosis and sports medicine clinics at Children’s Hospital in Boston and physical therapy clinics at the Boston Ballet Studio. Karen has treated professional dancers at the Boston Ballet PT Clinic, covered backstage performances for the company, and lectured on injury prevention at the Boston Ballet Summer Workshops. She brings her own experience to dance injury rehab having previously danced professionally in contemporary dance companies.
   
Patrick Davin, MSPT, ATC, CSCS:  Patrick earned his M.S. in Physical Therapy from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2007.  In addition, he received a B.S. in Physical Education with a concentration in Athletic Training, from Bridgewater State College.  He joined Spaulding’s staff in April 2011 and specializes in orthopedics and sports injuries.  Patrick, a Certified Athletic Trainer and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, has experience treating individuals of all levels and abilities, and is himself a competitive runner.
   
Donna Erdman, MOT, OTR/L:  Donna received her M.S. in Occupational Therapy and Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Occupational Therapy from Springfield College.  She has been a practicing Occupational Therapist for 15 years.    Donna's primary clinical focus has been with stroke, Parkinson's disease, brain injury, chronic pain, and fibromyalgia populations.  She is experienced in using Bioness H200 and NeuroMove neuromuscular electrical stimulation technologies as well as Saeboflex tone management system.  Donna received advanced training in driving assessment, both clinical and on-road, and has developed the Driving Assessment Program at Spaulding Cape Cod.  She is a Professional Driving Instructor in Massachusetts.  Donna feels it is important to take into consideration each patient's mind, body and spirit when providing care.
   
Lucia Grinsell, PTA, LMT, NCTMB:  Lucia graduated from Cape Cod Community College with an A.S. as a Physical Therapist Assistant in 1999 and has been employed by Spaulding Cape Cod since then. Her areas of expertise include orthopedics, manual therapy, myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, SI JI dysfunction, fibromyalgia, neurology and reflexology. She has attended advanced coursework in myofascial release, including myofascial/osseus release, myofascial unwinding, myofascial rebounding, cervical/thoracic myofascial release, integrated structural therapy for the pelvis, sacrum, lumbar, thoracic, ribs, upper extremity, cervical spine, cranium and cranial respiratory system, and MS-fibromyalgia, regional pain syndrome. In addition to her PTA expertise, Lucia became a Nationally Certified Massage Therapist in 2006. She helped develop the now successful Massage Therapy Program.
   
Julie Hagigeorges, DPT: Julie graduated from University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth with a BA in Sociology and Spanish.  She received a MS in Physical Therapy from U. of Rhode Island in 1994 and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Northeastern University in 2010.  Julie's areas of specialization include stroke, vestibular and TBI rehabilitation, including post-concussive syndrome treatment.  She is also experienced in treating headache using the Australian Manual Therapy approach and in prosthetics.  Julie developed Spaulding Cape Cod's Vestibular and Headache programs.  She is an Assistant Professor, Motor Control, for Northeastern University and as a member of Health Volunteers Overseas, has volunteered in St. Lucia.  
   
Laurie Keating, PTA, ATC, CKTP:  Laurie graduated from Newbury College with an A.S. as a Physical Therapist Assistant. In addition, she earned a B.S. in Physical Education and Athletic Training from Bridgewater State College and is a Certified Athletic Trainer. Laurie joined Spaulding Cape Cod's staff in November 2006. With 18 years experience in outpatient sports and orthopedic rehabilitation, Laurie has special training in treating injuries of the foot, ankle, and knee.  While she has had extensive experience treating athletes, from high school to professional, Laurie is equally interested in working with "weekend warriors."  She recently co-presented with a physician on "Sports Injury Prevention" to the community and helped staff a youth soccer clinic alongside New England Revolution coaches.  Laurie is a member of the exercise team  for SCC's Fit to be Kids program, teaching healthy living through increased activity and exercise to children struggling with weight management.  She also treats patients within the Fibromyalgia Program. Laurie is currently a member of Spaulding Rehabilitation Network's Sports Medicine Program and is a Certified Kinesiotape Practitioner.
   
Darren Leveille, PTA:  Darren graduated from Newbury College with an A.S. as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He joined the Spaulding staff in June 1996. His areas of expertise are in shoulder rehab, golf rehab, orthopedics, amputees and pulmonary rehab. Darren has obtained specific training from the Shoulder and Knee Rehabilitation Institute, shoulder rehab instruction from Dr. George Davies, and instruction from Michael Reinold, trainer for the Boston Red Sox. Darren is a recreational golfer and with his additional specific training, he has treated several local golf professionals. He participates in Spaulding Cape Cod's Back in the Swing and Back on Course programs and co-developed our Golf Swing Analysis Program.
   
Claire Markolf,  MSPT: Claire graduated from Northeastern University with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2005.  She joined Spaulding's staff in May 2010 with five years of experience specializing in general orthopedics, sports-related injuries and lumbar dysfunction.  Claire is an American Physical Therapy Association credentialed clinical instructor.
   
Karen Messier-Funk, MSPT:  Karen graduated from Boston University with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1992. In addition, she earned a B.A. from Brandeis University in 1988. She joined the Spaulding staff in April 2004. Karen has 19 years experience as a physical therapist, specializing in treating lumbar and cervical pain and radiculopathy, and headaches. Karen also has expertise in treating total joints, shoulder pathology and chronic pain. She is involved in research on the cervical spine and has done coursework with focus on patient education, monitoring of symptoms and relief of their own pain through ten strategies to outthink lumbar back pain.
   
Michael Moniz, PTA:  Mike graduated from Newbury College with an A.S. as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He joined the Spaulding Cape Cod staff in April 1996. He treats patients for neuro, orthopedics, MFR, craniosacral, vestibular, headache, cervical, NDT and back injury diagnoses. Mike performs aquatic therapy and treats both adult and pediatric patients. He has also received training on therapy using the Bioness L300. Mike helped develop the Kids at Heart Program, now known as Fit to be Kids, and has experience training athletes.
   
Jennifer Murray, MSPT:  Jennifer graduated from Husson College with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2001. Prior to that, she earned a B.S. in Economics and Finance from Bentley College in 1989. She joined the Spaulding staff in December 2002. Jennifer’s areas of expertise are in orthopedics, vestibular rehabilitation and balance. She also works with patients in Spaulding's Adaptive Golf Program.
   
Kim Norwood, PT:  Kim graduated from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1994, and has been a practicing therapist for 17 years. She joined Spaulding's staff in November 2006. Kim specializes in orthopedics, myofascial release, joint mobilization of the spine and extremities, occupational medicine, and therapy of the lumbar spine, shoulder, cervical and thoracic spine and ribs.
   
Stacy Pacuska, DPT:  Stacy earned her B.S. in both Biology and Psychology at Chatham College in Pittsburgh, followed by her Masters and Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2001. Her areas of specialization include pediatrics, manual therapy, including Muscle Energy Techniques, craniosacral therapy, aquatics, TMJ disorders and pelvic/sacroiliac disorders. Also a certified pre- and post-natal instructor, Stacy volunteers with Shriner’s adaptive ice hockey program and has been involved with therapeutic riding and adolescent obesity programs in the past.
   
Kelly Rascoe-Brooks, MS, CCC-SLP:  Kelly received both her B.S. in Communication Disorders and M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Rhode Island. She has been an SLP for 14 years and received her Vital Stim Certification in 2006. Kelly specializes in treating patients with brain injuries, stroke survivors, swallowing disorders, aphasia and cognition disorders.
   
Pamela Roesch, MPT:  Pam graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Masters of Physical Therapy. She joined the Spaulding staff in June 1999. Pam considers herself to be a physical therapy generalist. She enjoys treating a wide variety of conditions,and her areas of expertise lie in orthopedics. She also served as the lead clinician in our Brace clinic for over 5 years. Pam is a nine-time Ironman finisher and a USAT certified triathlon coach.
   
Julia Rush, OTR/L:  Julia received her B.S. in Occupational Therapy from the University of New England and has practiced OT for 25 years. Her areas of expertise are hand and shoulder therapy, neuro technologies and low vision. Julia has received specific training in the Bioness H200, Saeboflex and low vision therapy. She developed Spaulding Cape Cod's Low Vision Program along with John Child, D.O., and has studied with a low vision specialist to continue the expansion of this successful program.
   
Gordon Smith, PT:  Gordon graduated from the University of Lowell with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1988. He joined the Spaulding staff in December 2007. He did his post-graduate studies at McKenzie Institute and is McKenzie trained in the diagnosis and treatment of mechanical spine disorders with his focus on neck and back injuries. Gordon has 23 years of clinical experience in orthopedics and in the past has practiced with a noted non-surgical spine specialist. He is an avid runner, cyclist and kayaker and has volunteered for five years with the Boston Marathon medical team.
   
Jennifer Studley, PT:  Jennifer graduated from Quinnipiac College with a B.S. in Physical Therapy in 1997. She joined the Spaulding staff in December 2001. Jennifer has been a physical therapist for 14 years with an emphasis in orthopedic therapy.
   
Heather Ward, MSPT:  Heather graduated from Springfield College with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy in 1992. She joined the Spaulding Cape Cod staff in September 2006. Heather is certified as an Adaptive Technology Practitioner. With 19 years experience, Heather specializes in therapy related to stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, MS, vestibular, wheelchair and seating assessment. Heather is also trained in treatment using the Bioness L300.
   
Karen Warren, PTA:  Karen graduated from Becker State College with an A.S. as a Physical Therapist in 1985, and has 26 years of experience in her field. She joined the Spaulding staff in September 1996. Her areas of expertise are back injuries, fibromyalgia, aquatic therapy, neuro, orthopedics, manual therapy, Parkinson’s disease and pediatrics. Karen received specialized training through Boston University as a Parkinson’s Wellness Instructor. She is the primary clinician for Spaulding Cape Cod’s Parkinson’s Wellness Program at the main hospital in Sandwich and assists a Spaulding physician in the Parkinson’s Clinic. She also helped to develop the Fit to be Kids Program, a program for children struggling with weight management, and developed our current Fibromyalgia Program along with the manual for its physical therapy component. She has completed the American Back Pain Center courses. Karen developed a special education after school fitness program at both the elementary and high school levels. She has a background in sign language and AAC and has trained with Easter Seals in assistive technology. She is also a community resource and advocate for families of special needs children and has served on a special education parent advisory council as its president for several years.
