Audiology (Pediatric)

  • Comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluations for children six months and older
  • RHCI is an approved Audiological Diagnostic Center (Level III) for the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Newborn Hearing Screening Program
  • Testing is performed using age-appropriate methods
  • Services provided by a licensed, certified doctor of audiology
  • Provided on the RHCI hospital campus at 311 Service Rd., E. Sandwich
RHCI's audiologist is Sandra Stumpf Reams, AuD, who has been with the hospital for nearly 14 years. Sandra is a Doctor of Audiology and a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association.

 

Central Auditory Processing Assessment

  • Comprehensive, 2 1/2 hour assessment by audiologist with specialized training in auditory processing evaluation and treatment
  • For children 7 or older experiencing poor classroom performance, speech and language delays, and distractibility
  • Evaluates ability of the child’s brain to process information that it hears
  • Recommendations for remediation in school and at home
  • Provided at RHCI main campus
