Speech Therapy Groups

The kidsSPEAK program provides interactive, therapeutic group experiences for children and adolescents with impaired or delayed speech and language. Each eight-week series* includes a weekly class at RHCI for Children, educational materials and practice exercises for home.

kidsSPEAK goals include:
    
 

  • To enhance the child's development of language and comprehension by building listening and expression skills through music, play with peers and other activities.
  • To expand his or her vocabulary and self-expression ability through music, pantomime, dramatic play and other activities.  Enrichment programs for children with special needs.
  • To improve communication skills for older children and teens with language and learning challenges in a supportive peer environment.  Focus is on improving conversational, listening, decision-making, and verbal problem solving skills.
